"It's pretty much the same thing to me." the boy chuckled and ran his bare feet through the sand. "You know whats along time?" He looked at the girl and smiled. "Almost three years is a long time." The boy answered his own question before she had the chance to. "That's how long we've been friends." The boys eyes were wide open, staring up at the stars. He hadn't really thought about it much. He and Delilah were just.. Friends. He never thought about time, or anything. It all seemed so simple.
"It's above me?! Ouch,Delilah. Way to crush a guy." The boy rubbed on his chest, pretending like his heart was in pain, while chuckling. "Of course I'm ok, you brat." the boy pushed her shoulder lightly, with a large grin on his face. Oh, those goofy grins.. The ones that got even cranky Delilah all hyper.
The boy listened to her explain about space, and being stuck up there for a long time. It was odd. He knew exactally what she was talking about. It was even more weird, that the boy wasn't laughing at her. "Yeah, know what you mean.. Surprizingly." Something else that was surprizing, the boy was quiet now. Like, when a little kid is wicked hyper, then crashes. Thats what he was like. Except, he wasn't hyper earlier, he was just happy. And he hasn't crashed now, he was just thinking about stuff.

she agreed. And it was in a way. Suddenly the memory of her mother telling her that time goes by faster as you get older came to mind, but she didn't expand on the thought. The girl laughed slightly at Jared's oh-so injured heart. His heart was always being broken by her, even if it was because she wouldn't give him her last piece of poptart. Just another little feature she loved about the boy. He shoved her arm playfully, and she grinned back at him. Once she got back into her position, she had found that she had moved closer towards him without noticing. Eh...no matter. She was sure he wouldn't freak out if she invaded his hula hoop area or whatever. She gazed back up at the stars while Jared stayed quiet (for once) and continued thinking about random things. At one point, she even dozed off, her head lolling to one side, threateningly close to Jared's shoulder. She woke a couple second later, however, with a sudden remembrance that she was supposed to be back home. "Shit!" she cursed as she jumped to her feet. She looked to Jared with her panic-stricken face. "I can't let my parents see me like this!" she explained. By this time, she hoped that he knew what her paranoid parents were like. And if they ever found out she was swimming in the ocean with a boy, Lord help us, they would surely have some sort of a spaz attack and go on a Delilah Killing Rampage.[/ul]

The boy smiled as Delilah turned to her side, to look directly at her. He didn't turn, but his head did. The boy looked back at her through his stormy blue orbs. The boy had a smile, where not only his mouth was smiling, but his eyes did too. He normally always had the smile when Delilah was around. The girl just seemed to bring out the best in him. So why did he feel so weird around her so suddenly? "Yeah.. Feels like so much longer.." The boy replied, his voice light.
After the boy pushed the girl a bit, she repositioned herself in the sand. Only this time, closer. Either the girl was just really bad at finding a good spot, she just didn't care, or she was trying to say something. Jared pushed away the thought, knowing he was probably just going crazy. Every little detail, his mind started wondering.
Eventually, the two were lolled into a peaceful sleep. After a few minutes, Jared was awoken, to a squealing Delilah. When she jumped up, the boy followed in suit. The girl explained about her parents, with a freaked out expression on her face. The boy pondered how they could get her home, unnoticed. The boy furrowed his brow, still deep in concentration, when it hit him.
"You can uh, call your parents.. Tell them.." his voice trailed a bit, before he continued, "Tell them, your staying with Amber. You can chill at my dorm like you used to. It's no biggie, Lilah." the boy replied, a large goofy grin plastered to his face. It was quite a simple plan actually. Delilah called her parents last minute all the time. Jared had witnessed her do it before.
Of course, he hadn't thought of what he had just said. Would he be able to stay with Delilah? Or would it be to awkward for him? No, nothing could make him stay away from her. Although he did ponder what would happen if Delilah suspected him. The boy shuddered slightly at the thought. He couldn't even fathom his life without Delilah at this point. What if he screwed up, and said to much?
All those thoughts wondered through his mind, he kind of forgot what he was doing in the first place. Of course, Delilah was probably wondering what the hell was going on with this guy, since his facial expression, was anything but relaxed at this point. He shook his head, as if to 'snap' himself out of his thoughts, back to reality, and Delilah.
"That will work right? I mean, it has before.." A thought popped into his head, a tad bit later than the others. What if she didn't want to be around him in the first place? Damnit, why hadn't he thought of that before? "That is, if you want to come. No one is forcing you." the boy forced a chuckle. Why was he stressing so much? t was just Delilah. His best friend, Delilah.

she laughed. "I think you'd be as freaked out as I was if you knew what my dad would do to me if he found out I was 'half naked with a boy on the beach.'" Quoting her father, she put on a mock deeper voice and started pointing at Jared with her forefinger, mimicking something he would say. After she finished giggling happily, and after her heart had quit beating so fast from that moment of fright, she took a deep breath and took Jared's hand, leading him back towards her car. "That was a good idea, I'm sure it'll work." Delilah looked to him with her brows furrowed. The look only lasted for a moment, but she wondered why Jared would think she wouldn't want to go. She spent the night over at Jared's all the time; it was nothing new. After retrieving her shirt from the dock, she dragged him halfway to her car, and remembered that he probably got here another way. "Uhm. I guess. . .How'd you get here anyway?" Voicing her exact thoughts was something she did often.[/ul]

A relieved sigh escaped the boys soft lips, when she mentioned that it was a good idea./ohthankgod/ the words went through his mind faster than he could think. The boy began to crack up when she immitated her father. Of course, any father of a teenage girl that looked like Delilah would worry. "Man, I'm so glad I don't live with my parents." the boy rolled her eyes playfully, and follwed behind her, hand in hers.
"I uh, drove here. DURRR" the boy teased, wrapping an arm around the girls shoulder, giving her a little squeeze. He was a bit more comfortable, since she wasn't freaking out anymore. "Lilah, you better call, before you get in trouble." the boy replied, all the while, with his stormy blue eyes fixed upon hers.
"Oh.. One second." the boy ran back to the pier, and grabbed his shirt, and shoes. He ran back to the girl, with a large grin set upon his light features. "Bettehh m'dear." the boy chuckled and looked down at her. "Now, lets scramm!"
